The Hiway Theatre has been an important community, cultural and economic institution since 1913.  Having various names and owners over the years, its mission has always been in bringing people together to enjoy high quality films.  But time, neglect and heavy use have left the theatre in desperate need of a carefully orchestrated renovation.  In 2003, a group of local residents, who recognized the Hiway's importance to our community formed a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation to purchase, operate and rehabilitate the theatre.  Read in detail the plan for the new Hiway.

The budget for the renovation project is $2.1 million.  $1.35 million has been raised in government grants, leaving $750,000 to be raised privately.  To date, $580,000 has been raised due to hard work by our Capital Campaign Committee, Private Donors and with help from Matching Gifts

BUT we still need to raise $170,000 and YOU can help!  If you donate $1,000 or more we will recognize you with one of the following naming options.  Donors will also be listed permanently on our lobby wall and be invited to a special Grand Reopening Event.
